On Saturday April 2 the Cosmos opened their Spring League season. Cosmos began with Napa Atletico, winning the game 7-1. Two goals from Erasmo Ordonez, one from Cesar Nicasio, one from Erik Barrera, one from Ryan Dieter, one from Cristhian Purdente and one from Ivan Mojica. Marcos Valencia had a solid game in goal, only giving away one goal.
On Saturday April 16 the Cosmos continued their Spring League season. The Cosmos played ASR Chelsea. The Cosmos were victorious once again, winning the game 5-0 The Cosmos will play again on Sunday April 17 at Cook Middle School at 9am. Please come and support the boys.
On Sunday April 17 the Cosmos competed against Laguna FC Juventus. The Cosmos got off to a slow start, Ryan Dieter had several early opportunities that were missed but in the 15th minute Ronnie Shimizu was able to find the back of the net. After the goal by Ronnie, things started to open up and the Cosmos cruised to a 6-0 win over Laguna. The Cosmos will host SCA Red next Saturday at Cook at 10am. Please come and support the boys.
On Saturday April 23 the Cosmos competed against SCA Red. The Cosmos scored four goals in the first half and six goals in the second half. With stellar defense from Christopher Purdente, Ronnie Shimizu, Cesar Nicasio and Erasmo Ordonez, the Cosmos went on to win their fourth straight league game.
On Saturday May 14, after a long two week break with no Spring League games, the Cosmos competed against Napa Sport Soccer Mexico Jrs. 2001. The first half was dominated by the Cosmos, however, they Cosmos found themselves down 1-0 at halftime. In the second half the Cosmos were able to rally together, Erik Barrera led the way with 2 free kick goals to seal the game at the very end. It was a great win for the new team of Atletico SR. The Cosmos will play Sunday May 15 at Cook vs. Santa Rosa United. Please come and support the boys.
Sunday May 15 the ASR Cosmos took on SRU Liverpool. The Cosmos were able to get off to an early start with a 5-0 first half score. The boys played fantastic, organized and well played soccer throughout the entire match. The boys were able to finish 5 more goals and only allow two goals in the second half. The Cosmos finished with a 10-2 victory over Santa Rosa United. The boys will go away next weekend for the Ajax Jr. Green Invitational in Modesto.
